“Savon Voima wants to prepare for the future and support electric car growth in Finland. The charging points to be built this year make it possible to travel throughout the province with an EV. In addition to our own charging points, we will expand our range of services by offering electric car charging points to other companies as well. Now the cooperation with Charge & Drive will ensure that our customers receive all the services they need to charge their electric cars from Savon Voima – now and in the future, “says Arto Sutinen, Managing Director of Savon Voima.

When building electric car charging networks, the physical charging points alone are not enough; it requires and information system for monitoring charge points, billing management, and ensuring smooth customer service.
“We have developed a cloud-based service solution while building 1300 of our own charging points in the Fortum Charge & Drive network in the Nordic countries, and we are happy to provide the service to other companies. Cooperation with Savon Voima is an excellent example of promoting emobility by cooperating with other energy companies,” says Fortum Charge & Drive Sales Director, Sami Saarilahti.

The Fortum Charge & Drive system is suitable for managing a wide range of charging networks. Various functionalities such as customer service, network maintenance and billing solutions can be built on the same system platform. The platform is also flexible, and it is easy to add new solutions as needed.

Savon Voima’s goal is to build a comprehensive EV charging network for its own area of operations, creating and enabling the conditions for the development of low-emission traffic. Fast-charging stations will be deployed along the busiest major routes, where cars can already be charged in half an hour, and in the future even faster than that.
